Who We Are

Murray E. Thomas is a Canadian Chartered Accountant and the leader of the OANDA FXConsulting team. He is the former Chief Financial Officer and Associate Director for Macquarie Financial Ltd. (a Canadian subsidiary of the Macquarie Group) and a former Chief Financial Officer for Intrigue Technologies Inc. (prior to its sale to Logitech Inc.).

Murray has over 20 years of experience working for a variety of organizations, including more than 12 years in senior financial leadership positions. He has worked for large multinational companies as well as fast-growing international importers and exporters. Murray acquired his Chartered Accountant designation while working for Ernst & Young.

Gary Wright is a forex trading expert/consultant at OANDA. He has over 20 years experience in the forex marketplace, and has held senior trading positions at three major banks in the U.K. and Canada.

Gary has an extensive background in global market trading and the economic fundamentals that affect forex markets. He has traded all major currencies in the interbank market and has advised clients on foreign exchange spot, forward, and options at all of his previous positions.

Dean Popplewell was a professional currency trader for 10 years, fixed income trader for four years, and head of the global trading desks at various financial institutions.

Dean is now OANDA's resident currency analyst, and has been writing OANDA's daily forex blog since January, 2007 as a way to share some of his forex experience with the OANDA community.
